At the annual meeting of the south African War Veterans' Associa:ion last night there were produced ;wo field service biscuits issued to the tfew Zealand troops in -the South African War. One was sent in 1900 as i memento from the 2nd N.Z, Mounted Sifles—"A Merry Xmas from Pretoria" -to the Misses Seddon, daughters of :he fit. Hon. R. J. Seddon. and is now n the possession of Mrs. Mary Stuart flay, of Wellington. The other was ilso sent as a Christmas card, this time )y Mr. A. Mansford, of Wellington, to lie father in Melbourne in 1901. The !ather framed the biscuit, and later sent it back to the original sender. The siscuits measure four inches each way, md are an inch thick. Makara County Rates.
