IMPRESSMENT OF VEHICLES
An amendment to the Motor-Vehicles, Impressment Emergency Regulations, 1941, gazetted this week, increases allowances and expenses payable to persons travelling pursuant to a. warrant of impressment or to a notice to repossess. For every. day's necessary absence from home the allowance has been increased from 12s to 16s. The rate allowed for any part of a day was previously 6d an hour. This has now been increased to Bd. Provision has also been -nade for a payment to cover any expenditure actually incurred for board and lodging, or for breakfast, lunch, or dinner,.
