WOMEN'S LAND ARMY IN AUSTRALIA

SYDNEY, July 31

The Federal Government has approved, the creation of a national Women's Land Army, which will recruit and supervise women land workers under the directorate of manpower. Organisations sponsored by private effort in several States will be incorporated in the national scheme.

The national Land Army will be in two sections: first, women enrolling for full-time work in rural production, who will be given working uniforms and badges; secondly, women wanting short periods of seasonal work, who will be given badges only.
