His Excellency the Governor-General received Wing Commander J. Seabrook this morning.
Canon P. S. Smallfield, who is in his 84th year, has resigned the office of chaplain to the Veterans' Home, Auckland, which he has held since the opening of the home in 1903. The board of management passed a motion expressing appreciation of his long and faithful service.
Senhor Mario Santos has been appointed Consul of Brazil at Sydney with jurisdiction in New Zealand. The Hon. B. Martin, of Auckland, was unanimously re-elected Chairman of Committees b ythe Legislative Council yesterday afternoon.
