GIBRALTAR BOMBED BY ITALIANS
(Rec. 11 a.m.) RUGBY, June 29,
Under a full moon, Italian -aircraft raided Gibraltar early today. They met a tremendous barrage from the fortress, supplemented by anti-aircraft guns from naval ships in the harbour.
• No bombs were dropped qn'the;town. A few fell outside, the town, but; did no damage and caused no j< casualties.
Gunfire soon drove off the raiders. The attack lasted 30 minutes.—B:O.W.
