A "CORNER" IN PENNIES
(0.C.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Since the increase in the price of glasses of beer from 6d to 7d an unofficial campaign has been carried on by drinkers in some towns to "corner" the pennies. The situation aimed at was reached at one stage in a hotel in the Waikato this week, when the supply of pennies for change became exhausted and the patrons received their drinks at the old price.
