TURNING TO WEST
JAPANESE IN CHEKIANG
FIGHT FOR CHUHSIEN
LONDON, June 10. A Chungking communique says that the main body of Japanese troops north of Chuhsien, in Chekiang, is marching west in the direction of Changsban, about 26 miles away, and that fighting is now in progress east of this place. \ The Japanese claimed the capI ture of Chuhsien last week, but Chungking said last night it was still in Chinese hands. It is now stated that the Japanese have been reinforced and are intensifying their attacks on the city and airfield though their casualties are increasing. The communique indicates that widespread enemy movements are developing in the province west of Chekiang, The Japanese column which captured Foochow is continuing to advance.
