CORRESPONDENCE

E.P.S. REGULATION

(To the Editor.)

Sir,—Contained in the latest instructions to street wardens are two items I would like to draw your attention to. (1) Burst water mains, etc., are reported direct to the fire warden. (2) Fire, if no patrol is available, is reported to the block warden, who reports to the district warden, who in turn advises the fire warden. Surely both the E.P.S. personnel and the public should be urged to report fire as well as water direct. Had the new forms, now. in quadruplicate, been drafted with the top copy for the fire warden it could be dispatched separately, with no loss of time, the runner returning for the completed story.—l am, etc..
