ACUTE SHORTAGE OF HORSES IN EUROPE
(Rec. 9 a.m.) LONDON, June 8,
Since the German army commandeered all horses and oxen to draw brewers' drays in Breslau.says a Swiss report, the shortage of horses has been acute throughout occupied Europe. The Nazis seized 55,000 horses from France alone. The German army began enlarging - its cavalry units last winter after the Russians had proved their military value.
