PATRIOTIC APPEAL
\ CLOSING THIS WEEK
Canvassers are still busy in the Wellington city and suburbs raising money for the £106,000 patriotic fund appeal now in progress throughout the Wellington metropolitan v area. Many of the suburban districts have been completed, and the workers are giving their assistance to the city area, where progress has been delayed because of sickness.
It was announced by Mr. J. AnnandSmith, honorary organiser, today that workers were still needed for suburban districts between Tawa Flat and Paekakariki, and he appealed to anyone who was in a position to assist to notify the secretary at Room 207, D.I.C. Building.
The appeal, which is to be devoted to general patriotic purposes, including the sick and wounded and parcels for prisoners of war, is scheduled to close this week.
