' CHINESE SEEK TO PREVENT IT
(Rec. 9 a.m.) CHUNGKING, June 7,
The Chinese High Command announces that the Japanese have penetrated Chuhsien. It is added that the Chinese launched a concerted counterattack ; with a view to pi-eventing the junction of the two Japanese drives in Kiangsi and Chekiang. : .
A military spokesman .explains that such a junction would give the enemy control, of the interprovincial railway and ? also possibly trap large Chinese forces. ' ■ ■: .
