. 1 LONDON, June 7. Chungking announces that the Japanese have occupied the aerodrome at Chuhsien, in Chekiang Province, after a concentrated onslaught. This is one of thfc airfields from which the Japanese mainland can be bombed. Chinese troops, fighting stubbornly, have now withdrawn to the centre of the walled city, and they are engaging the Japanese forces in fierce hand-to-hand fighting. Chungking announces that the Japanese have entered Foochow in the neighbouring province.
