PERSONAL NOTES
Dr. Helen Deem, Dunedin, medical adviser to the Plunket Society, has been awarded a grant of 2000 dollars by the Carnegie Corporation to enable her to further her studies in America. She has requested postponement of the grant till after the war. Mrs. C. H. Laws, who has been visiting Wellington, has returned to Auckland.
Miss E. Pharazyn, Wellington, who has been the guest of Mrs. Cecil Teschemaker, Fendalton, has returned from Christchurch.
Mrs. A. P. Boyle, Papanui, Christchurch, has arrived at Heretaunga, where she Will stay for some time.
"Dr. Claudia Shand (nee V\feston) has been promoted to the position of senior house surgeon at the Wellington Hospital, and Dr. Nola M. Ivory has been appointed registrar at the Otaki Hospital.
Miss E. Bull, Christ's College, will leave Christchurch tomorrow for a holiday visit to Wellington/ Miss Dorothy Halse, Wellington, is visiting Miss B. Holtmeyer, Auckland.
