DRIVERS AND DRIVERS
Remarks made by Brigadier A. Greene, controller of the accommodation and evacuation section of the City E.P.5.,. to members of that section and of the accommodation transport section at their parade on Wednesday night have been misunderstood. Brigadier Greene was speaking, of the qualities needed in those women and' men whose duty it might be to assist and console people sent in distress to rest centres. What was wanted of such workers, he suggested, were sympathy and understanding—people who' could lead, not drive, so in that sense drivers were not wanted. Brigadier Greene, as controller of the section, has room for leaders at rest centres to help people who go there in distress, and he wants more transport drivers also.
