LOCAL ARRANGEMENTS

Tomorrow's observance. .of".."A'rizac: Day will be on a restricted scale but in the same solemn spirit of remembrance as in former years. All business premises will be closed, but war production and defence works will continue. A brief and simple ceremony will take place at the Citizens' War Memorial, commencing at 11 a.m., when a whistle will be sounded and a two-minutes' silence will be observed. Wreaths will be laid at the foot of the memorial on behalf of the Government, the City of Wellington, the Consular Corps, and service organisations. A prayer by the Bishop of Wellington (the Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland), and the sounding of the "Last Post" and "Reveille" by the trumpet unit of the Wellington City Battalion, Home Guard Band (Boys' Institute), under Trumpet-Major F. C. Chegwin, will conclude the ceremony. It is considered desirable that the laying of wreaths on behalf of institutions and schools and by private individuals should take place at times after the official ceremony.

Similar ceremonies will be held in Petone and Lower Hutt, and there will be the customary commemoration at all schools in the Wellington Education Board's district.

Tomorrow night and on Sunday night the Wellington Returned Services' Association will present "Anzac Cavalcade, 1942," featuring the Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force.
