STRENGTH 0F,70,000
SYDNEY, March 25. One million respirators are to be distributed amongst the civilian population of New South Wales, said Mr. Heffron, Minister of National Emergency Services, in a review of his organisation. 1
He added that the N.E.S. now has a strength of 70,000. Fire commissioners will recruit 2000 reservists and a women's auxiliary of 3000. Mobile surgical units will be established in vulnerable areas, and in a raid doctors will be able Ho perform Operations on the spot.
