ROUND-UP ORDERED
ALIEN SEAMEN IN U.S.A.
WASHINGTON, March 24.
The Attorney-General, F. Biddle, has ordered a nation-wide jround-up df 8000 alien seamen who have deserted their ships, thereby hampering • the shipment of war supplies to the Allies.
The round-up, which has long been ■urged by'several of the United Nations Governments, is beiiig undertaken because of the serious situation that has arisen in obtaining, needed men for crews. ■'■■"' ''' :•; .:., :." .
