SUBMARINE SUCCESSES
ENEMY CRUISER HIT
ATTACK ON CONVOY IN MEDITERRANEAN
(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) RUGBY, Feb. 26. An Admiralty communique states that a German cruiser of the Prinz Eugen class was successfully attacked by his Majesty's submarine Trident off the coast of Norway on February 23. The cruiser was hit by a torpedo, and subsequent air reconnaissance showed that a ship of this class was at Trondheim, in tow of tugs and damaged aft. It is possible that one of the escorting destroyers was also hit by a torpedo.
An enemy convoy was successfully attacked by one of our submarines in the Mediterranean. The convoy consisted of three supply ships, and three torpedo hits were obtained.—«.O.W.
