ALLIES HIT AT SUMATRA
LONDON, February 26.
Allied bombers have again attacked enemy positions in southern Sumatra, at Palembang and Oosthaven.
JAPAN'S SEA LOSSES
WASHINGTON, February 25
The Secretary of the Navy, Colonel Frank Knox, gave the Press the following summary of the war against Japanese shipping in January . and February:—Battleships, one (Kongo class) damaged; aircraft-carriers, one sunk, one believed sunk; cruisers, two sunk; destroyers, seven sunk; one believed sunk; submarines, three sunk, one damaged; seaplane tenders, one believed sunk; minesweepers, one sunk; gunboats, one sunk; fleet tankers, three sunk; transports, thirteen stink, two believed sunk; supply ships and merchantmen, sixteen sunk; miscellaneous ships, six sunk, two believed sunk, three damaged.
