HUTT HOSPITAL WATER The price quoted by the Lower Hutt City Council, 8d per 1000 gallons, for the supply of water to the Hutt Valley Hospital, was considered to be too high by several members of the Wellington Hospital Board last night, and the question was deferred until the next meeting. A sub-committee reported that, with 200 gallons per day per hospital bed, including laundry, 40,000 gallons per day would be required when the first two emergency wards were in use, and the demand would be doubled when the hospital was completed. A local supply by boring was suggested. An appeal is made to residents of Brooklyn to assist in digging trenches in the section opposite the Brooklyn Post Office tomorrow morning, commencing at 9 r 'clock.
