SCHOOLS SWIMMING

SOUTH HUTT VALLEY

The annual swimming sports of the primary schools of the southern portion of the Hutt Valley were held on Tuesday, the competing schools being Petone West (P.W.), Petone Convent (P. Con.), Petone Central (P.C.), Wilford (Wil.), and Randwick. Owing to travel restriction Muritai was unable to compete. The gathering was in charge of an energetic committee, of which the Rev. B. E. Tottman is president and Mr. J. S. H. Robertson secretary.

The girls' open championship, of 50 yards, was won by N. Phillips (P.C.), with P. O'Neill (P. Con.) second, and B. Taylor (Wil.), third, and the boys' open championship, of 66 2-3 yards, by P. McCormick (P. Con.), with A.. Gough (P.W.) second, and A. Sneddon (Wil.) third.

The results of the points championship were Petone Central 62y 2 points, Wilford 43V 2 points, Petone West 29 V 2 points, Petone Convent 19% points, Randwick 13 points.
