(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) NEW YORK. February 25, A Japanese navy spokesman said that. 50 Allied submarines and 1000 planes were operating against Japanese shipping in the Netherlands East Indies area. The Japanese were using the Singapore base for widespread operations, and some of the damaged oilfields in Sarawak had been restored to production.
