TIMOR & NEW BRITAIN
AUSTRALIAN RAIDS
(Rec. 9 a.m.) .CANBERRA, Feb. 25,
The following air communique was issued late tonight:—
"R.A.A.F. operations last night extended from Timor to New Britain. Our bombers attacked Rabaul, concentrating on buildings and grounded aircraft. All the bombs fell in the target areas and large fires were observed.
"Enemy positions in Timor were attacked with good results in excellent visibility. Bombs were dropped on anti-aircraft gun crews and searchlight positions. "One of our planes has not returned."
