UNITED IN PRAYER
Women in countries all over the world were united in prayer on Friday. In New Zealand services were held throughout the Dominion, and in Wellington over 150 women of various denominations attended the Central Baptist Church in the morning and in the afternoon. The world day of prayer has become an annual observance. Friday marked its twentieth anniversary in this country. This international intercession and thanksgiving movement was first established by two Presbyterian women in South America. The services here were led by Mrs. R. Inglis, Dominion founder. The main speakers included Dr. Nola Ivory, and Adjutant Berry, of the Salvation Army.
There was a generous response to the thanks-offering appeal. News had been received from the National Council of New Zealand that all funds donated by the women who attended services throughout the Dominion would be sent to aid imperilled mission stations in the Netherlands East Indies.
