ROYAL CHORAL UNION

There was a large attendance at the annual meeting of the Royal Wellington Choral Union last night. The chairman, Mr. H. E. Moston, reviewed the year which, he said, had been a very successful one and a record one from the financial point of view. The annual report, which has already been published, was adopted.

The following officers were elected:— Patron, the Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall; vice-patrons, the Rt. Hon. P. Fraser and Mr. T. C. A. Hislop; president, Dr. Macdonald W.ilson; vice-presidents, Archbishop O'Shea, :pishop Holland, Rey. Gladstone Hughes, and Mr. B. Sutherland; hon. organist, Mi*. Clement Howe; hon. accompanist, Miss Aileen Homer; conductor, Mr. Stanley Oliver; deputy conductor, Mr. Harry Brusey; committee, Messrs. H. E. Moston, W. J. Chartres, T. L. Cocks, R. H. Shearer, E. J. C. Wiffen; hon. librarian, Mr. J. E. Perry (elected for his thirty-second year); membership steward, Mr. W, J. Wakelin; hon. secretary, Mr. W. E. Caldow; hon. treasurer, Mr. W. Q. Bock; hon. auditor, Mr. G. M. F. Jackson.
