LOST IN AMERICAN WATERS
NEW YORK, February 21
The tanker Pan-Massachusetts, 8200 tons, was torpedoed and sunk off the Atlantic coast. Eighteen survivors were landed. Twenty ?re missing.
The Norwegian tanker Kongsgaard (9467 tons) was torpedoed off Curacao and beached in flames. Thirty of the crew were drowned or burned to death. Seven others were rescued. The scene of the torpedoing was described as a burning >>ell from blazing oil covering the sea.
On the .ground of adultery a decree nisi was granted by Mr. Justice Ostler in the Supreme Court today in the undefended divorce petition of Arthur McWhirter (Mr. M. F. Grogan) against Ivy Pearl Me Whir ter.
