WOODVILLE RACES

TO BE HELD AT ASHHURST

There will 'be four fixtures—three galloping and one trotting—to engage, attention tomorrow. Followers of the former branch will be catered for by the Woodville and Waikato Racing Clubs in this island and by the Westland Club in the South Island. The one trotting gathering will be the New Brighton Club's fixture. . In view of the fact that the Woodville Meeting will be on the Ashhurst course many people from the southern end of the Wellington Province will journey through to the fixture. Wellbalanced fields are carded. The Maiden Plate will-be run in two divisions as distinct races, the club having early made provision for such by arranging a seven-race programme. As at Otaki, Night Eruption is entered for the big race and the sprint, and it would not surprise to see the connections of the Nightmarch mare" again saddle her up twice. On this occasion, however, she heads the weights in both instances, having the steadier of 9.0 in each. In the maiden events and the juvenile contest there is a good deal of unknown talent, and these races may be productive of surprises. Horses with form to recommend them are:—
