WAR COUNCIL
PACIFIC SITUATION
MEETING HELD TODAY
The War Council met today at Parliament House and discussed the war situation. The Prime Minister (Mr. Fraser) made a statement covering the whole field' of activities, including Pacific strategy and New Zealand's position.
Mr. Fraser also informed the council of recent War Cabinet decisions and of representations made to the United Kingdom Government and through the United Kingdom Government to the United States in regard to the situation.
Among other matters discussed was the petrol position.
This afternoon the council is to consider reports from its defence and industries committees.
