ITALIAN DESERTIONS
DENOUNCED BY GERMAN
LONDON, February 18.
Reports from Cairo reveal that & German commander in Libya has denounced Italian officers for desertion, and that in consequence of this the commander of an Italian division has issued an order threatening the death penalty. This order, captured by the British, declares: "This matter is grave enough, but it is made worse by being reported by a German corps commander. Whoever abandons his post will be shot."
Benghazi has been heavily bombed, and Tripoli attacked again.
