INDIANS WARNED
INVASION POSSIBLE
LONDON, February 18.
At New Delhi, the Commander-in-Chief, India, General Hartley, spoke of the self-sacrifice and courage of the Indian troops who fought step by step against overwhelming odds in Malaya.
Then he gave this warning: "We must be prepared for an attack on India from the air, and for bombardment from the sea.
"We may even have to face the possibility' of a landing, but I am able to tell you that military preparations to meet the new position are well in hand."
