FIGHTING IN CHINA
ACTIVITY ON THREE FRONTS
CHUNGKING, February 17
The official radio announced that under the cover of artillery fire Japanese forces launched a new attack at Ichang in central China. Fighting has also flared up on the West Hupeh front, with the Chinese resisting at every point. On the West Suiyan front, Chinese units threw back the enemy's main force south-west of Paotow, and inflicted heavy losses. All the Japanese garrisons and defence works in that area were destroyed.
