UNDER BOMBARDMENT
POSITIONS ON BATAN
LONDON, February 18. In the Philippines tliere are indications of a renewal of attacks on the American positions on the
Batan Peninsula.
New enemy air units have appeared over General Mac Arthur's lines and have been bombing almost continuously. New enemy batteries on the Batan Peninsula have increased the intensity of their fire.
The Washington communique adds that a fairly large convoy of Japanese troops have arrived in Subig Bay, just north of the Batan Peninsula, and enemy reinforcements have been landed.
