CENTRE SINGLES
Keen play iv the semi-finals and final of the Wellington Bowling Centre's singles championship, decided on the Thorndon Club's green yesterday afternoon, resulted in S. London, of the Wellington Club, gaining the title. Both he and the other finalist, A. J. Brace (Thorndon), played consistently well in all their games, and this form was maintained in the final.
In the third round of the championship there were some surprising reversals of form, but in the subsequent games the play for the most part was very even. Results after the second round were:—
Third Round. —London (Wellington) 29, Morton (Lyali Bay) 12; Webster (Otaki Railway) 20. Johns (Eastbourne) 7; Brace (Thorndou) 22, Parker (Central) 14; Rendle (Upper Hutt) 2T, Field (Karorl) 11.
Semi-finals. —Brace 19, Rendle 13; London 17, Webster 12.
Final. —London 19, Brace 1?
