FOOD POISONING
CASES AT AIR FORCE STATION
' A statement on an outbreak of food poisoning near Christchurch, reported in the most recent notifications of infectious diseases, was made last evening by the Minister of Health (Mr. Nordmeyer).
"The position is briefly this," he said. "At an Air Force station there -were 30 cases of food poisoning, 27 male and three female. The sickness was of a mild type, r.nd the source of the infection was speedily discovered.
"These outbreaks are fairly dommon in the summer, months, and are particularly apt to occur in camps or places where people congregate." *
The Minister concluded by saying that the death from food poisoning rer ported from Christchurch in' the same set of notifications had no connection at all with the outbreak at the station, ahd. in fact, the infection in that case was of an altogether different type. ■
