NORTH AFRICAN GOVERNORS
LONDON, February 16. According tb French broadcasts, the Resident-General, of Tunisia, Admiral Esteva, and the Resident-General of Morocco, General Nogues, were summoned to Vichy, where they cbnferred with both Marshal Petain and Admiral Darlan. A correspondent of the "Daily. Telegraph" says that the visits can be directly traced tb the American protest against the passage of French supplies from Tunisia to Libya fbr the use | of General Rommel. He adds that it can be expected that Marshal Petain will again tell Washington he is ignorant of what is going on and promise measures to prevent further irregularities in the German interest.
