PRELIMINARY WORK

The work in hand today is all preliminary work to set the ground for the real construction. The unskilled men are improving access ways and paths to the refuge areas to be used for protection under the dispersal scheme, improving the approaches to the Hobson Street gully, and similar work. Skilled men are preparing timber, erecting equipment and shed and tool containers, and generally are getting ready the sites of the. various tunnel or surface shelters. The "Exit Way" notices, iridicating routes to the dispersal areas, are also being erected as quickly as possible.
