350 MISSING
TORPEDOED SHIP

SAN JUAN (Porto Rico), Jan. 28,
Three hundred and fifty passengers and crew are missing from an Allied steamer which was torpedoed by an enemy submarine. Another ship picked up 71 survivors after they had spent six days in the lifeboats. Five died in the lifeboats. The survivors stated that 200 persons were swept over-board when the torpedoes struck.
