VISIT BY WAVELL
CONFERENCE AT RANGOON
LONDON, January 36
It is revealed in Rangoon that General Wavell, the Allied Commas der-in-Chief of the South-west Pacific, recently visited the city. He discussed defence problems with Sir Reginald Dorman Smith, the Governor, and the chiefs of the naval, military, and air 'forces.
Today's Rangoon communique reports that a company of Gurkhas led by one British officer has managed to fight its way back to our lines after being cut off for several days.
