ITALIAN WOUNDED
SURGICAL DRESSINGS GIVEN BY SOUTH AFRICANS
LONDON, January 7
Reuters correspondent with the South Africans near Halfaya Pass says: "An Italian medical officer brought out under a white flag five wounded members of a Bx'itish bomber which crashed within the enemy defences at Halfaya, to enable the wounded to receive attention from South Africans besieging the position. The Italian medical officer explained that the Italians at Halfaya had no medical supplies, and therefore brought the wounded men to their friends. The Italian officer was sent back under safe conduct with a large supply of surgical dressings for the Italian wounded." ,
