OFFENSIVE IN THE MIDDLE EAST

More evidence is accumulating of the German preparations, in: the Mediterranean, says the : diplomatic correspondent of "The Times."
The preparations in Italy and the southern Balkans, he says, suggest that the Germans are working but a wide plan; A foreign military officer who has been with the German High Command reported that the German plan embraces an attack on Suez and the Middle East. A large-scale military move is unlikely before the spring. .
