U.S. AUTOMOBILE INDUSTRY
WASHINGTON, January 2.
The Office of Production Management "has completely prohibited the sale of new automobiles from today. It announced that the entire production of civilian cars will be stopped within a few weeks.
It was also officially announced In Ottawa that a drastic curtailment of the Canadian production of civilian, automobiles and light trucks amountting to a "virtual discontinuance of manufacutre" will be imposed on March 31. The early establishment of rationing of automobile supplies is predicted.
