Hutt Railwaymen
Over 1000 members of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants attended a meeting at the Woburn Workshops at noon today for the purpose of considering the wages question in relation to the increased cost of living. The following resolution was carried unanimously:— "That this meeting of Woburn A.S.R.S. whole-heartedly supports the claims of the Auckland railwaymen for 6d an hour increase in wages, and demands from the Government that when wages adjustment takes place preferential treatment be given to the lowerpaid men." It was also officially staV-d on behalf of the men that largelyattended meetings for the purpose of considering the wages question have been held daily at the Woburn shops during the past fortnight.
