SYDNEY SHARE MARKET STEADY.

SYDNEY, October 31. Brewery and tobacco shares, which had showed most reaction to the Budget yesterday, recovered slightly today on the Stock Exchange. The market otherwise was steady. Sales included : Tooths, 51s; Tooheys, 28s 9d; Australian Gas, 955; Mercantile Mutual Insurance, 295; Hordern's, 15s: Masonite, 26s 9d; W. H. Soul, X.Z. delivery, 655; J. McGrath, 295; G. J. Coles, 60s.
