"VICTORY OVER DEBT."
:—♦» As a result of the "Victory Over Debt Bazaar" held in St. Barnabas' Parish, Roseneath, on Wednesday and Thursday of this week, the goal for which the parish has been working for the last seven years has been reached. When the bazaar was opened by her Excellency Lady Newall on Wednesday afternoon, £181 was needed to clear the debt. At the bazaar £169 was taken, and £27 has been received in donations. At the closing ceremony last night, the vicar, the Rev. E. jM. McLevie, thanked all those parishioners and friends outside the parish who had prayed and worked and given so hard during the last seven years. The open- - ; ing ceremony yesterday was performed by Mrs. Peter Fraser. Miss Una Carter gave a cooking lecture and demonstration in the afternoon, and entertainment was provided by the "Victory | Troubadours" in the evening. •
