days into major Axis offensives, while the efforts against Rostov and the • Donets Basin continue without abatement.
While the Germans keep the Russians engaged scarcely less heavily than before in the Kalinin and Volokolamsk regions and adopt defensive instead of offensive tactics abound Mojaisk and Malo Yaroslavets, they are developing an assault with intense fury against the opposite wing of Moscow's defences, where they are thrusting on a large gcalevih the direction of Tula, despite tough resistance, and heavy casualties. The Russians admit that this new German offensive is progressing.
