NEW FIELD OF WORK
R.S.A. EXTENDS ACTIVITIES
Representatives of the Navy, Army, and Air Force, Rose Day workers, excommittees of the N.Z.R.S.A., and Wellington R.S.A. sub-branches and auxiliary committee met at the R.S.A. rooms on Wednesday to consider proposals to form a women's auxiliary committee.. Mr. T. C. A: Hislop, vicepresident, was in the chair. The R.S.A. promised that the'womenfolk of men of the Navy, Army, and Air Force on active service would be cared for and with this object in view, the executive decided to call upon the women in Wellington to assist. Social functions for relatives of men overseas will be arranged, cases of distress dealt with, and all that can be done to relieve distress of mind or body will be done.
The meeting elected a provisional committee often women to call a further meeting on October 22 of all women interested in the project, when officers, executive committee, and subcommittees will be elected. It was explained that this auxiliary committee will not overlap the activities of other war committees, but will operate in a new field of. activities.
