Karori Red Cross V.A.D. In the Karori Red Cross V.A.D. training the final group of lectures for the year—hygiene and sanitationwill begin on Tuesday, September 23, at 7.30 p.m., in the Parish Hall. ' Dr. McLean will be the lecturer. Those interested will be . welcomed to the classes. All Members Invited. ! Her Excellency Lady Newall will attend the afternoon session of the annual meeting of the League of Mothers, Wellington Province, which is to be held in the Town Hall Concert Chamber from 2 to 4 p.m. on September 26. The Rt. Rev. H. St. Barbe Holland,. Bishop of- Wellington, will be the speaker, and all members are invited \to be preterit. The business session, which will be attended by the executive, will, take place in the morning,, commencing at 10.30! •■' Major-General Puttick and W. 0.5.0. A big attendance of wives of officers serving overseas heard with great interest a talk by Major-General^ E. Puttick at a recent meeting of the W. 0.5.0. Club. The major-general gaye a resunfe of the N.Z.E.F.'s life in the Middle East, and a telling account of the campaigns in Greece and Crete; and.their value in delaying the enemy. Mrs. E. T. W.. Love, paramount chieftainess of Rarotonga, who is leaving shortly for the Islands, was presented with a Spray of flowers' from members, who wished her godspeed and au revoir: She herself made a moving farewell speech. Major Fenton was among- the guests.
