A communique issued by British headquarters in Cairo states: "Our patrolling activities, both at Tobruk and in the frontier area, are continuing. During engagements with the enemy columns which crossed the Egyptian frontier on September 14, British and South African mechanised units captured 10 tanks for the loss of one armoured car."—8.0. W.
