DAFFODIL SHOW.
Daffodil lovers will be well recompensed by a visit to the Hutt Valley Horticultural Society's spring show, which will be opened by his Excellency the Governor-General, Sir Cyril Newall, at 3 p.m. on Wednesday. In addition to the display from the Hutt Valley, which is renowned for the excellence of its daffodils, there will be displays from all over the North Island as well as exhibits of cyclamen, primulas, hyacinths, and cinerarias. The ever-popular novelty stall will again have unique specimens from far and near. The doors will open at 2 p.m.
The Commissioner of Taxes draws the attention of taxpayers to the notification appearing in today's issue that the due date of payment of land tax for the current year is Tuesday, September 30, and that the demands will be posted on or about September 23.
