SYMPATHY IN STRUGGLE
LONDON, September 8,
Sir Frederick Eggleston, the first Australian Minister to China, said at Singapore today that his appointment showed Australia's sympathy for the Chinese people in their long struggle against a ppwerful and well-equipped enemy
He said that Australia was very much interested in China taking her place of power in the Pacific area.
In Chungking, a spokesman said the Chinese Government felt no' Anxiety about the present talks between America and Japan. As .rid settlement could be reached without Chinese consent there was no fear of a Far East Munich.
